Game Play: Roll two dice and build the array on the board. For example if you roll a 4 and a 2, cover the boxes with your counters accordingly. Then write the multiplication problem and count up the number of counters used to build the array.
Game Assembly: Print on cardstock and laminate for durability. You’ll need two dice as well as 36 counters of any kind. If you use laminate your board you can use a dry erase pen to reuse it over and over again.
Expansion Ideas: As children show mastery of this concept add an additional step of drawing the array onto graph paper. Work the game backwards by giving them a number and asking them to build it on their board and find a possible roll of the dice that could have produced that number.
