By First Grade many children already know a lot about health and science. Not only do they learn at home from Mom and Dad, but today’s cartoons and educational aps have found fun ways to reach children with key concepts and ideas. The games available here are intended to expand on these foundations.
Animal Habitats Photo Sorting Game This is a game for children to sort real photos of animals by their habitats. Habitatis include Ocean, Pond, Forest and Farm with 12 different animals for each habitat.
Food Pyramid File Folder Game This is a sorting and classifying game based on the food groups of the food pyramid. Chidlren sort foods into Milk, Vegetables, Grains, Fruit, Meat/Beans, and Oils. This game works well with any healthy living unit in your classroom.
Animal Groups Game This game is called Critter Carvings and it’s a fun way for children to learn about animal groups. Children arrange the different animals into totem pole groups by stacking them ontop of eachothers heads. Descriptions of each of the groups (Mammels, Birds etc.) is written below for children to decide where to place each animal.
Alphabugs is an amazing resource for first-third grades. For each letter of the alphabet we’ve provided resources to learn about a new creepy crawly creature. Some are bugs, some are insects, some are arachnids, but they are all amazing! Each letter features Anatomy, Life Cycle, Coloring Page, Notebooking Page, Bible Verse, Habitats and extras! This is a great way to create a lasting project in your classroom.
