Game Play: Use as flashcards, children draw a card then count up the money. If they are correct they can keep the toy. Use with real money for extra fun.
Game Assembly: This game requires a single file folder game. Glue the “Hot” and “Cold” pockets to either side of the folder. Cut out the items for playing pieces. Glue title page to outside so that you form a pocket. Glue Tab Label to folder.
Expansion Ideas: These printable cards are perfect for pretend play. While you can also use them as flashcards, or matching games my children seem to enjoy them most when we use them to set up a “Store.” Usually we choose one person to be the store owner and then divide some coins between the rest of the children. Older children are required to calculate their own totals, while younger children use their coins and match them up on the cards. This is a great way to get the family involved in fun mathematical learning.
