Game Play: Choose and animal and place it into the correct animal group: Mammal, Bird, Fish, Reptile, Amphibian. As you add animals to each group stack them on top of one another like a totem pole.
Game Assembly: This game requires two file folders glued back to back so that you have room for three gameboards. Mount your categories to the board and cut out animals for playing pieces. Mount title page and label to the file folder.
Expansion Ideas: Talk with children about the different characteristics of each Animal group. Name a few other animals and ask them to think about what group they might fit into. Continue to build upon this knowlege as you are going about your daily routines, when you seen animals in the yard, at the park or on T.V.

Rhonda says
I printed out the Animal Groups sorting game for my Pre-K class. They enjoyed it, however, there were a few animals they weren’t sure of what exactly they were. We didn’t know if they were an elephant or dinosaur, a lizard (yellow) or something else. Other than that, they really enjoyed it. Thanks for the download.
