Game Play: Choose a shamrock and read the word. Determine if the word is a noun or a verb and place it into the correct treasure pot.
Game Assembly: This game requires a single file folder. Mount the pots on either side of the folder so that you create a pocket for the shamrocks. Cut out the shamrocks for playing pieces. Laminate for durability. Mount title and label to file folder.
Expansion Ideas: Younger children who aren’t yet able to read the words can still play this game. Simply read the words for them and ask them to think if it is a noun (a person, a place or a thing) or a verb (an action or doing word).
Skill Building Links: Noun Town Game (Proper Nouns, Common Nouns etc….)
Supplementary Resources: Merry Go Round a Book About Nouns! (I LOVE this series of books)
